Kara smashes employment goals with a little bit of work experience
Published:04 February 2025
Kara Black struggled with anxiety and the thought of entering into a job was intimidating. But after some work experience, she was able to obtain employment in the area of work she was aiming for.
“Kara Black was referred to the EASYP programme when she left High School. With very limited work experience and suffering from anxiety Kara was apprehensive about her next steps. Kara had always been interested in animals, especially reptiles. I arranged a meeting for us at the
Ultimate Reptiles shop in Kirkcaldy to discuss the possibility of a work placement.
We met with Ivor, the manager there. I could see how happy and at ease Kara was in the setting. She was offered a work placement and was excited to get started. A review was held after 8 weeks and Kara was offered a paid job!”

‘Kara is a little star. I found her to be a keen and conscious worker who is willing to learn. She always has a smile on her face. Other staff who have worked with her have echoed the above.’

Manager:
