Following the process with our client and the employer.

We meet Deborah Cameron Creative Artist a few weeks ago as she became one of the latest employers to benefit from the support and funding via the Fife Job Contract.

Now with a few weeks under her belt Deborah has a new employee, Lauren Clunie. Lauren has entered a world of creativity, with new skills, systems and customer engagement – a lot to take on.

So how are you getting on....

Week1 –Deborah showed me around the unit, gave me an induction to the machines I will be using and her methods for using each machine.

This week, it was coasters. I was introduced to a new program Sawgrass for printing templates and Canva for making designs and templates. I worked alongside

Deborah so I could observe the process for making the coasters, learning

the tips for the best results.

‘For my first attempt I felt really good about what I was doing & was really

impressed by seeing the design go from coaster to coaster,’ said Lauren.

I learned that customers often like to personalise coaster. Deborah talked

me through the need to keep in mind the fonts and text size to

be a repeatable design.

What an outstanding result!

We will catch up with Lauren and Deborah again soon and discover what new skills and equipment Lauren will be using.      Coasters - DCCA If you are an employer, we can support you for recruitment, we can help promote additional jobs, Modern Apprenticeships and provide support on multiple fronts.
