Coffee roasting is an artful, four-stage process (drying, browning, development, and cooling) that transforms green beans into aromatic, flavourful coffee through precise heat application. Utilizing sensory cues—sight, smell, and sound—roasters manage variables like the Maillard reaction to develop specific profiles, ranging from bright, light roasts to bold, dark, and chocolatey roasts

In this amazingly aromatic environment, enter Neville Tomkins. A veteran with a passion to learn a new skill. Coffee roasting is an exact science with the ability to blend and roasting to extract some of the most enjoyable flavours around. Under the expert tutelage of Tony Vandyke, Neville is learning the skills needed to become a coffee roaster.
